Assessments

Mon

01/05

Students will be able to:

-          Carry out a procedure to identify an infinite series and get a sum when possible.

-          Carry out a procedure to determine consecutive terms of a sequence that is defined recursively

-          Carry out a procedure to define a sequence recursively given 4 or more consecutive terms of the sequence.

Section 11-5 + 11-6

SC STANDARDS

IA 6.7, 6.8

Students will warm up with a review of arithmetic and geometric sequences.  Students will work on problems that involve infinite geometric series.  Review homework problems page 603 33+34.  Teacher will monitor progress.  Teacher will also model the recursive and explicit forms of equations.  Students will work on problems and examples in class as the teacher checks on progress.

SC STANDARDS

IA 6.7, 6.8

Students will warm up with a writing assignment that discusses the differences between an arithmetic sequence and a geometric sequence.  Teacher will go over homework corrections.  A short period to review problems on sections 5+6.  Students will then take a quiz on 11-5+11-6.  Students will have a review to start working on in class that can be finished for homework to study for the test on Thursday.

QUIZ

Wed

01/07

Students will be able to:

-          master sections 1-6 in chapter 11

-          read and understand arithmetic sequences and series

-          read and understand geometric sequences and series

-          sum infinite series

-          use the formulas to solve real world problems that involve series and sequences

-          solve and understand recursive functions

Sections 11-1 to 11-6

SC STANDARDS

IA 6.2,6.3,6.4,6.5,6.6,6.7,6.8

Students will have a warm up document on the TI-NSPIRE.  This document (teacher made) will be a self check on questions from the chapter.  Teacher will then supply answers to last night’s assignment.  Teacher will review any problems that students have questions about on any practice sheets done throughout the chapter, the TI-nspire review doc, and/or the homework.  This will be the best way for students to review this chapter.

Students will be able to:

-          construct a project to present to the teacher that shows all their knowledge on the parent functions that have been covered in this class

-          construct a TI document that shows how these parent functions can be translated and reflected to create art designs.

ALGEBRA 2 REVIEW

SC Standards

Covers most of the Algebra 2 standards.

Students will have received an outline of the project and the requirements.  The teacher will model a few of the requirements to make sure there is complete understanding of the calculator moves.
