* Outline the basic steps of the Scientific Method

* Distinguish between a guess, hypothesis, conclusion and theory

* Give/recognize examples of  investigations that follow the Scientific Method

* From a controlled experiment identify the variables that affect the outcome of the experiment

* Identify the key items that make for a safe science lab

* Name the major procedures required for working in lab groups
