Academic Enrichment EDP- TSWBAT…study and learn about character. They will discuss what is expected of them at their homes and/or their school. Vocabulary words that name and explain certain types of traits (good and bad) will be incorporated using study sheets, work sheets, quizzes and tests. Journal entries will be written using descriptive words to show an individual’s character traits. Given short stories and/or descriptions of individuals, students will use the appropriate words to paint the picture of the person’s character. Students will begin to study Kid’s Law. Discussion and teacher-made tests. IEP goals and objectives will be incorporated using worksheets based on character traits and good vs bad character traits.
English I EDP- TSWBAT…identify the different kinds of sentences and write their own. Identify nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. Choose appropriate “describing” words when writing about a certain person, place, or thing. Read and answer questions about stories. Incorporate IEP goals and objectives into journal entries.
Geography EDP- TSWBAT… choose his/her “favorite place in the world” and begin research on the place of their choice. Aside from a paper, students will design and create projects built upon at least one aspect of the area they have chosen. Projects will be displayed upon completion. Continue project.
Study Skills EDP- TSWBAT…receive remediation of Academic/ IEP goals and objectives as needed. Study about the origins many varieties of music and listen to said music. Study about different cultures and traditions (beginning with the ones germane to their Geography work.
Students’ progress or lack of progress will be assessed by: teacher checklists and teacher made tests and quizzes. Some standardized measurements will be used to access present levels of functioning. Any other testing will be dictated by the individual student’s IEP.
Material will be delivered to students in visual, auditory, and tactual form. Accommodations/Modifications will be made as per each individual student’s IEP. Written notification of progress will be provided a minimum of every 4.5 weeks.
