My
Class
The purpose
of a resource class is to help students who have learning differences succeed
in their regular education classes. I
will be providing support for the material being taught in the regular classes,
working on IEP goals, and assisting students with organizational skills. I maintain close contact with all regular
education teachers. All teachers provide a copy of lesson plans and complete a
weekly contact form.
Classroom
Procedures
1.
Agenda/Materials Check – At the beginning of each class period students’
agendas are checked to see that assignments
are being recorded daily. I also
check to see that students have required
materials – pencils, papers, notebook
with class notes in proper sections, and an
AR book. This will be recorded on
each student’s grading sheet.
2. Teacher Directed Lesson – Lessons will be
based on students’ IEP goals,
PACT
skills, or study skills strategies. Each assignment will be graded.
3. Complete Core Course Work – Students will
complete assignments from core
classes which will then be returned to the
core teacher.
4. Read – Once work is completed, students may
use time left to work toward
reaching their Reading Renaissance
goal. Students are expected to have an
RR book every day.
