Teaching Philosophy Art does not need to mean something or have a functional purpose. It can just “be”. To be is to exist in a tangible form that may not be understood but admired and celebrated for the effort put forth. To “be” is to let go of fear and push beyond the boundaries of what art is. I encourage a “No Fear” policy in my classroom. No answer is wrong, no question is too trivial. I believe in a social environment where students converse to solve artistic problems, and motivate one another to create more. |
