Students complete algebraic problems and explain the meaning of algebraic
expressions and substitution of numbers for variables. |
Class will discuss pages 78-80 in HSAP: MATH. Students will complete
pages 81-83 with a partner or small group. Groups will be assigned problems
to complete at the board and explain answer. |

Students will compare and contrast similarities and differences within
a passage. |
Class will read and discuss pages 303-305 in HSAP: ELA. Students in
cooperative groups will use the signal words chart to identify words
indicating similarities and differences and create an H-map on the sample
passage on pages 305-306. |

Students will read Gym Candy, Part two, 1 and 2, and complete a
narrative frame on the sections read. |
Students will work
in cooperative groups with each member having an assignment. Groups will work
together to complete a narrative frame identifying key elements of each
chapter. |

Teacher will review common and proper nouns in a given excerpt.
Students will read chapters 7-9, part one of Gym Candy. Upon
completion, students will be paired or assigned to small groups (class size
dictates), and be assigned a chapter from the book. Each group will identify
10 common and 10 proper nouns in the assigned chapter and present their
findings to the class. Additionally, each group will present a summary of
their chapter to class. Students individually will answer questions from each chapter. Individually, students will write a response explaining how the events
in chapter 8 foreshadowed the events in Chapter 9. |
