Monday

Students will solve two-step algebra problems with and without fractions.

Class will review processes involved with solving multiple step algebraic equations with and without fractions. As a class, the group will complete 1-10 on page 100 and 1-10 on 101 as a group. Then students in pairs will complete 11-20 on pages 101 –102

Completion and accuracy of 11-20 on each page assigned.

Numeracy

Additionally students will earn an additional grade per week for preparation, organization, on task time, and participation.

Tuesday

Students complete algebraic problems and explain the meaning of algebraic expressions and substitution of numbers for variables.

Class will discuss pages 78-80 in HSAP: MATH. Students will complete pages 81-83 with a partner or small group. Groups will be assigned problems to complete at the board and explain answer.  

Participation

Wednesday-Thursday

Students will compare and contrast similarities and differences within a passage.

Class will read and discuss pages 303-305 in HSAP: ELA. Students in cooperative groups will use the signal words chart to identify words indicating similarities and differences and create an H-map on the sample passage on pages 305-306.

Friday

Students will read Gym Candy, Part two, 1 and 2, and complete a narrative frame on the sections read.

Students will work in cooperative groups with each member having an assignment. Groups will work together to complete a narrative frame identifying key elements of each chapter.

*Identify common and proper nouns in a selection correctly

* Present a summary of assigned chapters in pairs or groups.

*Answer comprehension questions from chapters 7-9 correctly

*Write a response to events in chapter 8 and chapter 9

Teacher will review common and proper nouns in a given excerpt. Students will read chapters 7-9, part one of Gym Candy. Upon completion, students will be paired or assigned to small groups (class size dictates), and be assigned a chapter from the book. Each group will identify 10 common and 10 proper nouns in the assigned chapter and present their findings to the class. Additionally, each group will present a summary of their chapter to class.

Students individually will answer questions from each chapter.

Individually, students will write a response explaining how the events in chapter 8 foreshadowed the events in Chapter 9.

Friday

* Complete an employment application with 100% accuracy

Students will review their information from employment information card and complete all parts if not completed. Students will be given their applications from last week and discuss problem areas. Students will be given a new blank application to complete.
