Final Project: Mouse trap Car (assigned on 5 April 2010)

Mouse Trap Car = 100 points (for your fourth quarter grade)
Doing the project gets you 35 points
-Single source of power – mousetrap ( mouse trap cannot trigger a mechanism)
-Must travel two meters - 65 points (will receive a percentage of points for farthest distance achieved)
(cannot be pushed, must be start from rest)
-Mousetrap must be part of the car.
-Cannot be built from a kit.

Originality = 15 points
Car that goes farthest; for each class gets 10 extra points, All Classes car that travels the farthest gets 10 additional points

A journal (total of 20 points) must be kept and turned for seperate grade, turning in journal will get you 10 points.

Material List – required for class

A three ring binder with paper (college or wide rule, student’s preference) I will check notebooks at different times during the year
Eight dividers will be needed; they can be student’s creation or bought.

At least two writing instruments everyday (pencils or pens)
Your writing instruments need to be black or dark blue ink, and gray (normal) pencil. 
No other colors will be accepted.
Also needs:
Colored pen or highlighter for grading in class
Index Cards, Graphing paper, colored pencils
Calculator:  TI-Nspire w/touch pad, or 84 silver, plus or any scientific calculator.
It is recommended that the student get a USB Flash drive to be able to take projects to and from home, library or other computer. One drive can be used for all of their classes.

Supplies for class needed everyday.

3 ring binder, with 8 dividers, can be student made, do not have to be purchased.
Pencils or pen, must have 2 everyday, must be black, blue pens gray pencil.
Calculator: TI Nspire, TI 84 silver
