Week 16 (12/01-05/2008)
Students will be given academic
support on a daily basis, while working toward completion of their IEP goals
and objectives.
Students will complete all
outstanding work sent from their regular education teachers.
Monday
Students will read an editorial
from Sports Illustrated, then
construct an essay based on choices made and doing the right thing.
Tuesday-Friday
Students will continue Algebra remediation,
working more with solving equations, and other algebraic problem areas.
Week 15
(11/24-28/2008)
Students will be given academic
support on a daily basis, while working toward completion of their IEP goals
and objectives.
Monday-Tuesday
Students will be given the opportunity
to catch up on and complete all outstanding work before the Thanksgiving break.

Week 13
(11/10-14/2008)
Students will be given academic
support on a daily basis, while working toward completion of their IEP goals
and objectives.
Students will continue with
their bell work competition and answering everyday questions that put their
minds to work. Objective- be able to take their time and come to conclusions for
simple everyday questions.
Students will write about what
they think about when they can not sleep at night. Objective- to get the
students thinking about an everyday event and get them to write about it.
Student will learn to draw
conclusions and sequence events.
Objective- student learn to look at two pictures and draw conclusions
what happened in between and be able to sequence the events in the order that
got to that point.
Students will be able to
complete a Math Pyramid. Objective- students will use problem solving
techniques in order to add and subtract to complete the Math Pyramid.
Week 12
(11/5-7/2008)
Students will be given academic
support on a daily basis, while working toward completion of their IEP goals
and objectives.
Students will continue with
their bell work competition and answering everyday questions that put their
minds to work. Objective- be able to take their time and come to conclusions for
simple everyday questions.
Students will do a worksheet
that has them multiple 2 digit numbers with themselves. Objective- have
students practice their multiplication tables with two digit numbers.
Students will do a worksheet on
cause and effect. Objective -students
will learn the difference between cause and effect and they will understand
which one comes first.
Week 11
(10/27-31/2008)
Students will be given academic
support on a daily basis, while working toward completion of their IEP goals
and objectives.
Students will continue with
their bell work competition and answering everyday questions that put their
minds to work. Objective- be able to take their time and come to conclusions for
simple everyday questions.
Students will turn words of
numbers into standard form numbers.
Objective- be able to read words and interpret
them into numbers correctly into standard form.
Students will read questions
about a story and be able to interpret the answers from the text and two
different graphs. Objective- use context
clues and be able to read a graph and interpret the information.
I will perform a magic trick in
front of the class and ask the class to either explain in paragraph form how
the trick was done, or if they do not understand how it was done explain how
they felt after the trick was completed.
Week 10
(10/20-24/2008)
Students will be given academic
support on a daily basis, while working toward completion of their IEP goals
and objectives.
Students will continue with
their bell work competition and answering everyday questions that put their
minds to work. Objective- be able to take their time and come to conclusions for
simple everyday questions.
Students will learn about
placements of numbers through a worksheet. Objective- to be able to recognize
how much a number is simply by how many numbers are being used.
Students will write a paper
about optical illusions after I show them a series of O.I.’s. I will have them write which one was their
favorite and why. Objective- to introduce students to O.I. and have them write about them.
Sentence punctuation, the
students will get a worksheet with badly written sentences on them and they
will have to correct them. Objective- to give the students
practice on proper punctuation.
Week 9
(10/13-17/2008)
Students will be given academic
support on a daily basis, while working toward completion of their IEP goals
and objectives.
Students will continue with
their bell work competition and answering everyday questions that put their
minds to work. Objective- be able to take their time and come to conclusions for
simple everyday questions.
Students will learn odd and
percentages using a set of playing cards. Objective- be
able to calculate percentages based on whole numbers.
Students will write about
something that they do exceptionally well that others always seem to struggle with. Objective- get them
thinking about things that they are good at while getting them to write a
paragraph about it.
Students will learn about cause
and effect and complete a worksheet on it.
Objective- to be able to distinguish what the difference between cause
and effect is and which one comes first in the sentences described.
Week 8
(10/6-10/2008)
Students will be given academic
support on a daily basis, while working toward completion of their IEP goals
and objectives.
Students will continue with
their bell work competition and answering everyday questions that put their
minds to work. Objective- be able to take their time and come to conclusions for
simple everyday questions.
Students will learn fractions
and how to convert them into decimals through a game of dominos. Objective- to learn how to modify a fraction into decimal form
using an everyday life experience.
Students will write about an
embarrassing moment in their life after a class discussion on what embarrassing
is and “why these things happen to me”. Objective- to be able to apply a life event and construct it into a
writing topic.
Students will read about events
in the past and by using context clues they will put these events in order on a
number line. Objective- to learn how to
infer what is being read and explain it by putting
dates on a number line.
Week 7
(09/29-10/03/2008)

term personification and be able to identify it, demonstrate it, and explain
what it is.
Tuesday- Students will learn
the term symbol and be able to illustrate a symbol, dissect what a symbol
stands for, and explain what one is.
Wednesday- Students will learn
the term oxymoron and be able to interpret an oxymoron, choose an oxymoron from
a group of phrases, and develop their own oxymoron.
Thursday- Students will learn
the hyperbole and they will be able to explain what hyperbole is and translate
what a hyperbole statement is trying to say.
Friday- Students will learn the
term pun and be able to identify their own pun, construct a sentence with a
pun, and compare puns with non-puns.
Block IV
