English 3 & Math 4 for the weeks of 05/26/2008:
English 3:
English 3 Objectives:
1.To improve vocabulary.
2.To improve writing skills – We write paragraphs on
Tuesdays.
3.To improve reading comprehension – We have finished
reading The Lion, The
Witch, and The Wardrobe in class. We will be completing reading
comprehension assignments.
4.To improve understanding of how numbers are used in
classes other than math – On Thursday we do a math problem that has been
creatively tied in with the English lesson.
Monday 05/26: Memorial Day Holiday
– No School
Tuesday:
Teacher will
re-explain book.
Students will complete study guides
Writing: Paragraph on how I am going to study
for exam.
Wednesday:
Teacher gives
answer to exam study guide.
Students
fill it in.
Students
will take turns reading aloud to practice for oral reading portion of exam.
Thursday:
Teacher will
review vocabulary from the term.
Students will answer questions about
vocabulary.
Students
will copy vocabulary words and look up definitions.
Numeracy:
Students will calculate how many minutes they need to study for exam if each
section requires 20 minutes of studying.
Friday:
Practice Test
Monday 06/02:
Teacher will
explain practice exam and give answers.
Students will complete main idea/detail
reading assignment.
Students will complete second exam review.
Tuesday:
Teacher will
explain second review.
Students will study.
Wednesday:
Exam
Thursday:
Students will meet for 2nd and 4th block
classes so this class will not meet.
Homework:
Study for exam.
