Reading 1:

Reading 1 Objectives:

1.     To improve reading comprehension.

2.     To improve vocabulary.

3.     To improve writing skills – We write paragraphs on Tuesdays.

4.     To improve understanding of how numbers are used in classes other than math – On Thursday we do a math problem that has been creatively tied in with the Reading lesson.

Current Book: A Series of Unfortunate Events Reptile Room by Lemony Snickett

Monday 11/16: 

Teacher will teach new vocabulary words.

Students will practice words and answer questions on Ch 9 in book.

Tuesday:    

Teacher will teach vocabulary words.

Students will practice words and answer questions on Ch 10 in book.

Writing: Students will write sentences using vocabulary words.

Wednesday:

Teacher will teach vocabulary

Students will read words off the board.

Students will discuss what is going on in the book and make predictions.  

Numeracy: Students will complete math worksheet.

Thursday:

Teacher will review vocabulary.

Teacher will orally quiz students.

Students will complete test study guide.

Friday:

Teacher will review for ch 9 -10.

Students will take test.

Monday 11/23: 

Teacher will teach main idea, content clues and making predictions.

Students will practice main idea, content clues and making predictions  

Tuesday:    

Teacher will teach main idea, content clues and making predictions and functional vocabulary words.

Students will practice main idea, content clues and making predictions and functional words.  

Writing: Students will write sentences using vocabulary words.

Wednesday – Friday:  Thanksgiving Holidays.

English III Objectives:

Procedures for all chapters: 

Read aloud, discuss, and work examples/problems form textbook and copy off of board into notebook.

Complete assigned worksheets from the chapter.

Student work Ch. Review and Ch. Test form A as pretest.

Teacher works review on board and students copy the review onto their test review sheet.

Students take it home to study and take the test the next day.  If the class is having a difficult time with a particular chapter, the students work two reviews before taking the test. 

 

Monday 11/16:

Teacher will teach Ch 7 Lesson 1.

Students will complete all assignments in Ch 7 lesson 1.

Writing: Complete

Homework: English Worksheet on lesson 6.

Tuesday:

Students will complete all assignments.

Homework:  Worksheet from section.

Wednesday:

Teacher will teach Ch 7 Lesson 3.

Students will complete assignments.

Students will work in groups’ on 2 day long project.
