REGULAR ASSIGNMENTS

 

ü      HOMEWORK/CLASSWORK – This is for students’ practice and review.

ü      BELL WORK -  This is a daily assignment that the students are quizzed on every Friday.

ü      LAB REPORT – Process skills are assessed as well as student’s understanding of concepts.

ü      NOTEBOOK – This will include bell work, vocabulary, daily work, lab reports, and end-of-lesson questions for each major test.

ü                            The list of items needed is posted in the classroom and on my web page.

ü      QUIZ – These make sure students are reading and reviewing as expected and answering their bell work.

ü      PROJECT – These are student creations that are graded by a set of criteria. 

ü      TEST – This type of formal assessment will occur at least three times during the grading period.

 

MY EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS CLASS

 

  1. BE PROMPT – Be on time.  Enter the room quietly and get ready for board work.  Place your homework on the corner of your desk so it can be collected, passed in or checked.
  2. BE PREPARED – Bring your  (A.) white notebook paper, (B.) pencils, (C.)  science folder, and (D.) homework to class every day.
  3. BE PRODUCTIVE Finished with your work?  Read RR book, review, work on homework, organize notebooks, etc., but stay in your seat and do not disturb others.
  4. BE POLITE -  Raise your hand to speak.  Respect other students’ feelings (no put-downs), respect other students’ property, and respect other students’ right to learn.

       Major Projects:  Elements, biomes, and genetic disorders are assigned randomly.

3rd nine-weeks -   Human Body System Booklet

4th nine-weeks –   Biome project
