Greetings my name is Ms. Gloria Givens; I am the attendance, computer

Attendance If
your child attends school on the first day school starts they are entitled to
10 excused (Dr. Notes) and 10 unexcused absences. If your child starts after
the opening date their absences are calculated according to the day they
started. The 10 excused and 10 unexcused may not apply to them.
Please submit Medical / Dental excuses or parent notes no later than
three days after their return to school so that it can be documented in the
computer. You can call, e-mail or fax the school if your child will not
attend. Please address the e-mails and fax excuse to me so that I can print
and submit them. If you call the school you must also send a written note regarding
the reason for the absence signed by Parent or Guarding when your child
return. Tardy (Late) It is our aim to help your child excel in every way.
Students who arrive on time have a better chance of success. Tardiness causes
loss of valuable learning time. Late students miss direction for activities
and often disrupt instructions of other students. The first bell rings at
7:40 a.m. the late bell rings at 7:50. If your child arrives after 7:50
please send them to the front office for a late (tardy) slip. Students can
come to school as early as 7:10 for breakfast; they will be dismissed from
the cafeteria to their classrooms at 7:30 a.m. The school day ends at 2:10
p.m. If your child is not a bus rider they can be picked up in the carline.
For safety reasons students cannot be picked up in the front
office after 1:30 p.m. On early dismissal days the cut off time will be 30
minutes before dismissal. The District policy are as follows:
After three tardies your child will receive
a letter. If the student continues to be tardy after five
times they can receive an overnight suspension. |
