Welcome to the Delmae Writing
Lab! I am excited about teaching writing to students in grades 1-3. Students will
come to the lab once a week for approximately 45 minutes.
The writing lab is housed in Mobile Unit # 1. Please call
the school at 664-8448 if you’d like to visit us!
Do you know the SLAMS rules? These rules are used to help write
answers to questions in any subject. They can actually help you improve your
test score on standardized and benchmark tests. Students in grades 3 & 4
are working hard to make sure they state and write answers to questions using
the SLAMS rules. The rules are listed
below:
Sentence – Write a complete sentence.
Line length–The number of lines you see
for your answer determines how long your answer could be.
Answer the question!
Mechanics are important – things like
spelling, capitalization, punctuation, word usage, etc.
Supporting details – The more details you
add to your answer, the better your answer can be.
Any of the following items would
be greatly appreciated!
ØPencils ØErasers ØHand sanitizer ØKleenex tissue ØPaper towels ØColored pencils
