Mrs. Chapman

I am very excited to be here at Delmae. My focus for all students is to create a hands-on, minds-on environment to enhance science knowledge.

We have some animals in our room to observe, and a math and science garden to enjoy.

My instruction for the year will be based on the State Standards for science. I will focus on the following topics for each grade level:

Grade 2- Process Skills, Animals, Weather, Changes in Matter, and Magnets.

Grade 3- Process Skills, Habitats, Adaptations, Earth Materials, Heat, Changes of Matter, Machines, and Motion.

Grade 4- Process Skills, Organisms and the Environment, Sky Patterns, Weather, Climate, Electricity, Magnetism, Light, and Sound.

I also offer a science club for grades 2-4. Due to the large amount of students who participate, we meet on a rotating three week schedule. Our meetings are on Mondays from 2:10 – 3:00. (ex. Grade 4 will meet one Monday, grade 3 will meet the next week, and grade 2 will meet the next.) Science club does most of the upkeep in the Delmae Math and Science garden.
