                        STUDENT MATERIALS NEEDED ON A DAILY BASIS

·         Notebook paper (loose leaf)

·         Pencils or blue or black pen

·         Colored pencils or colored markers

·         highlighter

·         Spiral Notebook or 3 prong pocket folder with 25 sheets of paper

to keep in classroom

·         A divided section in 3-ring binder for handouts & wksts

·         100 count Pkg of 3x5 note cards to make flash cards for 50 states

·         AR book to read after finishing quizzes and tests

 

 

 

TEACHER EXPECTATION/CLASS RULE:

Mrs. Dartnell’s Classroom Expectation for Student Behavior:

The student’s character, behavior, and attitude must

contribute in a positive manner to the learning process in the

classroom at all times.

 

 

CONSEQUENCES:

1.    verbal or non-verbal warning

2.    student and teacher conference

3.    parent contact

4.    discipline referral to the office

 

SEVERITY CLAUSE: 

If the student’s behavior warrants it,

these steps will be skipped and the student will be

referred to the office immediately for discipline

 

                        Important Reminder to students and parents:

·         HMWK – Students should review their notes daily

CLWK – Students need to take good class notes

·         Students are expected to participate and listen during

class discussions

·         There should be no excess talking, drawing/coloring note writing, paper wad throwing, noise making, etc., during class

·         Absences – According to the student handbook, the students are

responsible for making up any missed assignment within 5 days of their return to school following an absence; after 5 days a grade zero will be entered into the grade book

·         Time-Out and or Lunch Detention – Students who disrupt class

will be assigned to time-out or lunch detention; after a student serves three time-outs and/or lunch detentions for disrupting class in anyone’s room, he or she will receive a discipline referral to the office for their fourth offense. 

WARNING: Three Strikes Your Out!  An attempt to notify

parent at home and/or work will be made each time a student is sent to lunch detention.  After serving the 3rd lunch detention the student will be sent directly to office with a discipline referral the next time this student misbehaves.

Essay Question:

The first 25 items will come easy. It is the last 25 items that forces you to come to terms with the reality of the consequences that come from making bad choices.  I consider this a very important final assessment for my course.
