Guardians: As part of our study of 8th
grade SC History, Team 8 is planning a trip to Charleston, SC on Wednesday,
November 18, 2009. All students on
Team 8 will be given the opportunity to go on the trip. Students with serious behavior problems or
with OSS for the first nine weeks will not be allowed to go on this field trip
unless they are accompanied by a parent. The total cost is a non-refundable
$40.00. This includes: ·

Landing. Each student will need to bring a bag
lunch. There are 100 available seats on two charter busses which will leave
Sneed at 7:30 AM and return at 5:00 PM. Also, in the event of any unforeseen
accidents or occurrences; Team 8, Sneed and/or Florence District One will NOT be held accountable or liable. This trip is optional, and no student
will be penalized for not going. We

1. All assignments
should be done on loose– leaf paper that need to be turned in and written in pencil. 2. Blue or black pens for
projects and essays that are not typed 3. A section in a
three-ring notebook for social studies 4. Materials for projects
as they are assigned Grading and Homework Policy: Daily grades count
once: quizzes, class work, bell work
folders, minor projects, and homework grades.
Major projects, tests, and essays will count twice. Nine weeks test given at the end of the 1st
and 3rd nine weeks will count three times. Semester exams count 20% of the semester
grade.
Homework will be assigned daily.
Written homework will be checked for effort, not accuracy. Students will be given a grade for each
completed assignment. Classroom Procedures: 1. Show respect for your teacher,
classmate, yourself, and your school’s property. 2. Keep your hand, feet, and
unkind words to yourself. 3. Follow directions. 4. Come prepared to learn. Bring
your pencil, notebook, textbook, pens, paper, homework, positive attitude, healthy body and
mind to class daily. Consequences for failing to following
classroom procedures: I will review with your
child the classroom procedures I expect him/her to follow. The following is the management plan I will
use for students who fail to comply. 1st offense: Warning!
Student Conference/Minor Disciplinary Action 2nd offense: Parent Contact: Note/Letter/Phone Call/Conference 3rd offense: Time Out
or Lunch Detention 4th offense: Office Referral If a student’s behavior warrants it, any
of these steps may be skipped, and the student referred directly to the
school office.
