Curriculum Information

Dewey L. Carter's teachers follow the South Carolina State Curriculum Standards for grades 4K-6th grade.  The teachers focus their lesson plans around the skills the state has identified as developmentally appropriate for our students for each grade level.  These are the same standards and skills that are tested on the Palmetto Achievement Challenge Test in grades 3-6.  To view the SC State Standards, click on the link below.

PACT Preparation

There are many things you can do at home to help your child be prepared for PACT.  Listed below are some tips to remember for preparation.

• Have your child eat breakfast

• Have your child get at least 9 hours of rest

• Review skills from each chapter in math

• Have your child read to you each night

• Ask your child questions about the books you read

• Make sure your child does his/her homework each night

• Read the weekly newsletters from your child's teacher

• Try to attend Parenting Workshops

• Stay in touch with your child's teacher

• Check the grade level website frequently
